Overview
First Impressions
DACH Apartments – Cozy 3 bed Apartment in Hendon sits on The Burroughs in Colindale, and honestly, it’s one of those places that surprises you. From the outside, you might not think much of it — just another converted building in northwest London — but step inside and you’ll find a genuinely comfortable space that feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel. The three-star rating actually undersells what you get here, especially considering the size and the fact that you’re getting a proper apartment setup.
The Space Itself
What really works about this place is the layout — three bedrooms that actually make sense for families or groups traveling together. The main living area flows nicely into the kitchen, which is properly equipped (I mean, you can actually cook here, not just heat up leftovers). The furniture isn’t fancy, but it’s solid and comfortable, and there’s enough space that you’re not tripping over each other’s luggage. Each room has decent storage, and the beds are surprisingly good for this price point.
Getting Around From Here
Colindale tube station is about a ten-minute walk, and that Northern line connection gets you into central London in around 30 minutes — which is actually pretty decent. The area itself is quiet, mostly residential, with a few local shops and a Tesco nearby for essentials. You know what’s nice? There’s parking available, which is honestly a godsend if you’re driving in London. The neighborhood isn’t touristy at all, so you get a real sense of how locals live.
What You Need to Know
The management is responsive — when I had a question about the heating, they sorted it out quickly. The apartment comes with basics like towels and linens, plus kitchen essentials, though don’t expect fancy toiletries or daily housekeeping. The WiFi works well throughout, which matters if you’re working remotely or just trying to stream something after a long day of sightseeing. One thing to note: it’s a walk-up building, so factor that in if you’re traveling with heavy bags.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t a place that’ll wow you with marble bathrooms or a concierge, but it delivers exactly what it promises — a clean, comfortable space where you can spread out and feel at home. For families or groups who want more than just hotel rooms, it’s actually quite good value. The location gives you that local London experience while still being connected to everything you want to see. Plus, having a proper kitchen means you can grab groceries and save money on meals, which adds up quickly in London.

"The house was cosy as stated"
The location was perfect for us as it was just 2 mins walk to Middlesex University which was our main place of interest. The apartment was very spacious and could easily accommodate a family of six. The Landlord provided some very nice stuff for the kitchen like coffee, tea, and condiments which you could use free of charge and he was very helpful to us at check out with our luggage storage before departing
What could be improved: The fact is that the apartment is a very old house which was stated on the booking site so it wasn't so much as what I didn't like but just what was offered. So, basically the facilities were old but didn't bother us since it was expected. I could see the Landlord's effort in the house, however, more effort should be put into better cleanliness

"Comfortable and nice"
Very well equipped and all the necessary things for a short comfortable stay. Great communication and well located. Spacious and comfortable
What could be improved: The water pressure in the shower is weak and it is difficult to control the hot and cold water as the bathroom tap mixer probably needs replacing but is manageable.

"Great location... comfortable and allowed for a good place to stay while spending time in London"
The location was fantastic... easy trip into the city, lots of stores close by as well. Good internet.
What could be improved: the kitchen was not organized well for cooking... difficult to find basic cooking items

"Great practical place to set up for your London Adventure!"
The hosts were very easy to work with and helped us get settled in. The location is only a short walk to the train station and we had easy access to London. Also, there's a lot of restaurants and shops in the area!

"The place is in a dire need for an update, but we could see that the hosts tried to make an effort to get it clean."
An effort was put in for it to be relatively clean. It was a roomy house.
What could be improved: The apartment and everything in it is really old, mattresses absolutely saggy and the place generally is in dire need of an update.

"I felt the flat was good value for money given its size and location. The decor was dated but I found that charming!"
Great location. Very spacious flat.
What could be improved: Spring mattresses were a bit uncomfortable. Couldn’t get the DVD player to work.

"Hendon 3 bedroom flat"
Location was great for bus and underground. Shops nearby and downstairs. Parking available with certain restrictions. Terrace is lovely. Very spacious rooms. Neighbours were friendly. The heating was gd. The manager was helpful.
What could be improved: Kitchen was far too small. Washing machine was not great and needs to be replaced with a washer/dryer. The entire apartment does need an update together with the furniture. The stairs going up to the flat need a hand rail and a touch up too as very risky when carrying things up or down. Very noisy due to the location. Not ideal for those with young children. Bathroom really needs to be updated. The kitchen cabinets were filled with old food stuffs from previous people staying there and really needed to be cleared out before we went to stay there. The beds were not comfortable.

"value for money"
Location is amazing
Decent facilities
mostly clean
host was great and happy to help
What could be improved: parking was a bit annoying as quite restricted but is expected as it is in London
you have to go up stairs to get to flat which is only hard cos we had a buggy
problems with boiler pressure but host was happy to come round to fix promptly. Still needs a more complete fix
mattresses a bit too hard in my opinion

"Old place needs some work but spacious for a group."
The flat is spacious and the hosts have equipped it well; there were plenty of pans and plates etc in the kitchen and a good fridge, as well as useful things like hairdryers and irons. The hosts have tried to make it homely by leaving books and some tea, coffee etc in the cupboards. It's an easy walk from the tube station, there's a café downstairs and shops nearby. They sent useful directions and kept in touch well by message.
What could be improved: It hadn't been well cleaned; the bedsheets were not clean with little bits of sand and dirt in them and the floors were sticky. The mattresses and beds are old and springs and sticking out a bit so we had to put a thick duvet on top to make it comfortable. The shower is not great as it takes ages and a lot of fiddling to get it to keep a consistent temperature.
