Cute Studio Super Central Old Street 5
First Impressions
Walking up to Cute Studio Super Central Old Street 5 on Nile Street, you’ll notice it sits right in the heart of Hackney — and I mean properly central. The building itself has that classic London brick facade, nothing too fancy, but when you step inside this apartment, it’s clear someone put real thought into making the most of every square inch. It’s one of those places where compact doesn’t feel cramped, if you know what I mean.
The Space
This four-star studio is honestly well-designed for its size. The kitchen area has everything you actually need — proper cooktop, decent-sized fridge, and enough counter space to prep meals without feeling like you’re playing Tetris. I appreciated that they didn’t just stick a kettle in the corner and call it a day. The whole space feels thoughtfully laid out, with good lighting and a surprisingly comfortable bed that doesn’t dominate the entire room.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying on Nile Street — you’re literally a three-minute walk from Old Street Station, which means the entire city opens up to you. But more importantly, you’re in proper London territory here, not some tourist bubble. There’s a Tesco Express around the corner for essentials, and honestly some of the best Vietnamese food I’ve had outside of Vietnam is just down the street at Cây Tre. The area buzzes with locals heading to work, which I actually find more authentic than staying somewhere that’s all hotels and souvenir shops.
Practical Matters
The building doesn’t have parking, but honestly, you won’t need it here — Old Street connects you to everywhere via the Northern Line and you can walk to Shoreditch in about ten minutes. The wifi worked perfectly for video calls (I tested it), and the shower has proper water pressure, which isn’t always a given in London apartments. Small thing, but the blackout curtains actually work, so you can sleep in without the street lights keeping you up.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place with a concierge or room service, but that’s sort of the point. You get to live like a Londoner for a few days, popping out for coffee at the local spots and coming back to somewhere that feels like home base rather than a hotel room. The 8.8 rating makes sense to me — it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. For the price point and location, especially if you want to be genuinely central without paying Zone 1 hotel rates, it’s actually pretty brilliant.
To book hotel in London for fashion week buzz, travelers reserve early to pair Westminster sunrise walks with evening pub rituals.
