Cozy Apartment in Stratford next to Abba
First Impressions
When I first walked into Cozy Apartment in Stratford next to Abba, I’ll be honest — the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know. It’s tucked away on High Street in Central House, and you really are just steps from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park where ABBA Voyage has taken up residence. The apartment sits on the fourth floor, and while there’s no fancy lobby to speak of, there’s something refreshingly straightforward about the whole setup.
Location & Neighborhood
Stratford has completely transformed since the Olympics, and staying here gives you a front-row seat to all that energy. You know what’s great? You can literally walk to Westfield Stratford City in about five minutes — I mean, it’s massive and has everything you could possibly need. The transport links are actually incredible; Stratford station connects you to the Central, Jubilee, and DLR lines, plus there’s the Overground. Getting into central London takes maybe 20 minutes, which honestly beats a lot of Zone 1 hotels when it comes to convenience.
The Space
This four-star place feels more like borrowing a friend’s flat than staying in a traditional hotel. The room is properly sized — not cramped like some London accommodations — and there’s a decent kitchenette if you want to grab groceries from the Sainsbury’s downstairs. The bed was comfortable enough, and I appreciated having a proper workspace since I needed to catch up on some emails. The Wi-Fi actually works well, which isn’t always a given in converted apartment buildings.
Practical Considerations
Here’s the thing about apartment-style stays — you’re trading hotel services for space and flexibility. There’s no daily housekeeping, but you get fresh linens and towels at check-in, and honestly, that worked fine for my three-night stay. The building itself is secure with key card access, and I felt perfectly safe walking around the area even in the evenings. Parking can be tricky around here, so I’d recommend using public transport or ride-sharing if you’re not familiar with East London’s street layout.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is the balance it strikes between location and value. You’re paying significantly less than you would for similar space in Zone 1, but you’re not sacrificing access to London’s attractions. The ABBA Voyage show is literally a few minutes’ walk away — perfect if that’s on your agenda — but even if it’s not, the Olympic Park is lovely for morning runs or evening strolls. Plus, there’s something satisfying about staying in a neighborhood that feels genuinely lived-in rather than purely tourist-focused. It’s not flashy, but it works really well for travelers who want a proper base in London without the premium price tag.
