Overview

First Impressions

I’ll be honest — Cosy 2 BDR flat 5 min to ExCel free Car Parking isn’t the most glamorous name, but don’t let that fool you. This four-star property on Wesley Avenue in London is one of those finds that just makes sense when you’re actually here. The building itself is pretty typical for Newham, but there’s something reassuring about having your own space with that promised parking spot right there.

The Space

Walking into this two-bedroom flat, you get that immediate sense of relief — it’s genuinely cosy without being cramped. The main room has decent natural light, and honestly, after staying in so many London hotel boxes, having a proper living area feels like such a win. The kitchen is functional rather than fancy, but you know what? It’s got everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the local Tesco instead of eating out every meal.

Location Reality Check

Here’s the thing about Newham — it’s not central London, and that’s actually the point. You’re genuinely five minutes from ExCeL, which means if you’re here for an event or exhibition, you can literally walk there without dealing with the Tube madness. The area feels properly residential, with that mix of families and young professionals you see in East London neighborhoods that haven’t been completely gentrified yet.

Getting Around

The car parking situation is honestly brilliant — I mean, free parking in London? That’s practically unheard of these days. If you’re driving in from outside the city or planning day trips, this place suddenly makes perfect sense. Custom House station is walkable too, so you’ve got DLR connections when you do want to head into central London. The journey to Canary Wharf takes about fifteen minutes, which isn’t bad at all.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to wow you with marble bathrooms or concierge service, but it delivers on exactly what it promises. The 7.4 rating reflects that — it’s solidly good rather than spectacular, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need. You get space, you get parking, you get a proper kitchen, and you’re not paying Zone 1 prices for the privilege. If you’re visiting ExCeL, working in Canary Wharf, or just want a London base that doesn’t cost a fortune, this flat actually works really well.

"Lovely place to stay, comfortable and a good amount of space"
Nice decoration, sense of space and light, with great local surroundings. Very comfortable for 4 people. We felt ‘away from it all’ while at the same time well connected to nice places to walk on your doorstep, convenient for the IFS Cloud cable car, and good variety of transport links close by.
What could be improved: Kitchen has mostly everything and is compact, except no dishwasher or coffee maker, which are a nice to have when staying away (not essential). Overall excellent, clean and comfortable beds and towels - a comfy stay!

"Not very good"
Wed, 15 Oct at 11:52 Whilst it's a lovely little flat, we did have to ask several times for details on how to get the key, first it was "I give out the details 24 hours before your stay", then no response, then "oh, sorry I forgot", as we were driving to London. A little map to the car park and space would have been nice as we didn't realise that Windsor Hall is split over two buildings and went into the wrong car park initially. Spaces are very tight if you have a largish car. The small bedroom was very small with the double bed just fitting between 2 walls and across the patio door. It was fairly clean, although could do with freshening up in places as the sofa looked a bit grubby and was uncomfortable for 4 people. But it was adequate for just 2 nights. Very handy for the DLR line, if you don't mind lots of steps up and down to the bridge. The weekend did go very sour at the end when my wife left her handbag in the Flat so we contacted the owner as soon as we realised. It was sent back to us, but her purse had been completely emptied of all money - £100 stolen along with a lipstick and perfume! Apparently her policy is she's not responsible for any items left behind, fair enough, but she took responsibility when she said it was found, locked away safely and would return it! Anyway we have reported the theft to the Police and have a crime number (01/8079808/25) if anyone else has experienced this - I'm sure we're not the first and won't be the last - so if it happens to you, please report it
