Overview

First Impressions

You know what struck me first about Contemporary 2-Bedroom Apartment in Wanstead, London? It’s not trying to be something it isn’t. Tucked away on Clock Court in Wanstead, this four-star apartment feels refreshingly honest — modern without being sterile, comfortable without being overdone. The building itself has this understated elegance that actually fits the neighborhood perfectly.

The Space That Works

I’ll be honest, two-bedroom apartments can feel cramped when they’re poorly designed, but this place gets the layout right. The kitchen opens naturally into the living area, which means you’re not stuck cooking while everyone else disappears into corners. The bedrooms are properly sized too — I mean, you can actually walk around the bed without doing some weird sideways shuffle. Natural light floods in through well-placed windows, and the contemporary furnishings feel intentional rather than just thrown together.

Wanstead’s Hidden Appeal

Here’s something most people don’t realize about Wanstead — it’s got this village-y feel despite being Zone 4 London. You’ve got proper green spaces nearby (Wanstead Park is genuinely lovely for morning walks), plus the Central Line gets you into the city center in about 25 minutes. The high street has actual independent shops and cafes where locals go, not just the usual chain suspects. It’s the kind of area where you might actually bump into the same friendly face twice.

What Makes It Tick

The apartment comes with all those little details that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night — decent wifi that doesn’t drop out, proper heating controls, and enough parking space that you’re not circling the block at 10 PM. The appliances work like they should, and there’s actual storage space for your stuff. Plus, having your own space means you can grab groceries from the local Sainsbury’s and cook something decent instead of eating overpriced hotel room service every night.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

What I really appreciate is how this place doesn’t oversell itself — it delivers exactly what it promises. Families love having the extra bedroom and proper living space, while business travelers appreciate being able to spread out and work comfortably. The location gives you that authentic London residential experience without sacrificing access to central areas. It’s the sort of place where you settle in rather than just crash, and honestly, that makes all the difference when you’re trying to get a real feel for the city.

"A good space to stay in for the two nights we were there. Comfy, airy flat in quiet surroundings."
A beautiful apartment, airy and in a very interesting building with fantastic and unusual architectural features. Comfortable furniture and tastefully decorated.
What could be improved: Nothing to report in terms of not liking. But possible additions to the apartment that may improve the experience for visitors. As part of the initial welcome milk in the fridge so tea and coffee can be made on arrival, often after a long journey. The kitchen would benefit from a tea towel and oven gloves, it was hard to use the oven safely without them. No first aid kit found. No plug near enough to the bedroom side lamp, which meant it was redundant and just an ornament.

"Nice flat, but not fully stocked."
The flat was spacious and clean, which is difficult to find in London. We enjoyed how close it was to the subway and the city center.
What could be improved: The wifi wasn't posted. It would have been nice if there person checking us in has made sure we had everything we needed before leaving in a rush. We were able to sort out the wifi after the first day with some back and forth as the host insisted that the wifi info was placed on one of the tables and wouldnt simply guve us the info we needed without us insisting it was missing. We also didn't have enough toilet paper, shampoo, or conditioner for our stay. We asked that the toiletries be replenished as we were out by day 4 of 8, but our host let us know that his housekeeping confirmed that there was enough supply left for us. He also let us know that it was not common practice to replenish used up toiletries, that he lived an hour away, and that we were expected to replenish it ourselves, although my research on booking.com states otherwise, as well as every other experience I've had with vacation rentals. I also let him know that the place was not stocked with games, puzzles, books for kids, DVDs for kids, and games for kids as stated in the posting. The host insisted that they were present, stating where they were located in the flat. (They were not there.) In his frustration over our requests and complaints, he then accused us of hosting other guests at our flat and said he had video evidence. I let him know that it is a violation of privacy to have cameras located in the flat or outside the flat without being transparent about their existence. He insisted that cameras were located outside the flat and that he would ask for us to pay fines for violating policy and that this information was disclosed. I reviewed info on the flat, and no such information was disclosed. I also let him know we had no events at the flat and did not host any guests. He told me that I was demanding and rude after my requests to have toiletries replaced. He also told us that we would not be allowed to book with him again.
