COMO Metropolitan London
First Impressions
Walking into COMO Metropolitan London, you’re immediately struck by how it manages to feel both grand and intimate at the same time. The lobby has this understated elegance — all clean lines and natural materials — that whispers luxury rather than shouting it. It’s positioned right on Old Park Lane, which means you’re literally steps from Hyde Park Corner, but the interior feels like a calm refuge from London’s relentless energy.
Prime Location
Honestly, the location is pretty spectacular. You’re in the heart of London but tucked away enough that you won’t be dealing with tourist crowds right outside your door. Hyde Park is across the street — I mean, you can practically roll out of bed and be jogging through the park in minutes. Wellington Arch is right there, and Apsley House too, if you’re into that sort of thing. The Green Park tube station is a short walk, which connects you to basically everywhere you’d want to go.
The Room Experience
The rooms at this five-star property are where COMO’s design philosophy really shines through. Everything feels purposeful — the lighting, the layout, even the way the bathroom flows into the main space. My room had floor-to-ceiling windows that flooded the space with natural light, and the beds are honestly some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered in London. The marble bathrooms are generous, with those deep soaking tubs that actually fit a full-sized human being.
Dining and Wellness
Nobu is the hotel’s signature restaurant, and while it’s not exactly a secret (it’s Nobu, after all), the quality is consistently excellent. The sushi is exceptional, though you’ll want to book ahead. What I really appreciated was the COMO Shambhala spa — it’s compact but incredibly well-designed, with treatments that focus on holistic wellness rather than just pampering. The pool area feels almost zen-like, which is quite an achievement in central London.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something about this place that just works. Maybe it’s the way the staff anticipates what you need without being intrusive, or how the design creates these quiet moments of luxury throughout your stay. The hotel attracts a mix of business travelers and discerning tourists who appreciate quality over flashiness. Parking is available, though honestly, you won’t need a car with this location. It’s one of those hotels that feels distinctly London while offering the kind of international luxury standards that COMO is known for — sophisticated, wellness-focused, and refreshingly unpretentious.
