Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to City LUX Apartment on Little Britain, you’d honestly miss it if you weren’t looking carefully — it’s tucked into this narrow historic street that feels miles away from the tourist chaos, even though you’re literally in the heart of the City. The building itself has that understated London elegance thing going on, and when you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that you’ve found something a bit special. It’s got that apartment-style setup that makes you feel less like a hotel guest and more like you’re staying at a friend’s really nice place.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about staying in the City of London — most people think it’s going to be all glass towers and suits, but this little pocket near St. Paul’s actually has incredible character. You’re a two-minute walk from the cathedral (I mean, you can practically see it from some windows), and Smithfield Market is right there if you want to grab breakfast somewhere locals actually go. The area gets wonderfully quiet in the evenings once the office crowd disperses, which honestly surprised me the first time I stayed here.
The Apartment Experience
What makes this four-star place work so well is that each unit feels like a proper London flat rather than a standard hotel room. The kitchenette isn’t just for show — it’s actually functional, with a decent-sized fridge and everything you need to make coffee that doesn’t taste like hotel coffee. The living spaces have these lovely high ceilings and big windows that let in tons of natural light, plus the furniture feels chosen rather than just ordered from a hotel catalog.
Practical Comforts
The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just “hotel comfortable”), and the bathrooms are spacious by London standards — which, let’s be honest, means they’re not tiny. What I really appreciate is how quiet it gets at night, especially considering you’re staying in Zone 1. The Wi-Fi actually works properly, and there’s decent storage space, which matters when you’re staying more than just a night or two. You know what’s also nice? The staff treats you like a neighbor rather than just another check-in.
Why Guests Love It
This place hits that sweet spot between hotel service and apartment independence — you get housekeeping and a front desk when you need help, but you’re not dealing with crowded lobbies or fighting for elevator space. The location means you can walk to Borough Market, cross the Thames to Tate Modern, or just wander through some of London’s oldest streets without ever needing the Tube. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re actually living in London for a few days, not just visiting it.

"We have had a wonderful weekend for my birthday and it was made better with this apartment."
The location was excellent. The apartment was really great , spacious which is important to me when sharing with others. I really like the dark curtains in the front bedroom which helped me sleep well. Nice shower in the front bedroom en suite. The ironing board came in useful as did the hair dryer. Nice equipped kitchen , we didn't watch TV but there were great options in there too. A very quiet building we never heard anyone else. Handy little pub right next door that served great fish and chips.
What could be improved: A long mirror would have been useful for the ladies 😊

"Very good"
Very good position close to services, bars, restaurants, underground and bus stops. Bigger than the average size apartments. Warm and good accomodation.
What could be improved: The shower in the small bath was a Little bit noisy.

"Spacious base to use for exploring."
Location near St Pauls was great. The living area is generous with enough seating for everyone. The bedrooms were a generous sized, particularly the main bedroom. The main bathroom was good, but the shower is over the bath and climbing in and out required some dexterity. We were able to check in early which was very convenient. The heating was easy to use. The kitchen looks new and was very clean.
What could be improved: The ensuite bathroom is very small. The shower isn't appealing. We used the main bathroom. The curtains in the bedroom are old and worn, but do the job of providing privacy. The washing machine was broken, which was unfortunate as it was a deciding factor for booking and it couldn't be fixed immediately. However, there is a laundromat 10 minutes walk away, so it worked out. Overall, it was a good base for few days exploring London.

"Excellent location, very nice spacious flat"
Excellent location, spacious and comfortable flat in very good condition. Nice views. Ultra quick and helpful responses..Car parking very handy and easily accessible from the flat.
What could be improved: Main bedroom a bit lacking in storage space and shower quite small. Someone else parked in the allocated parking space - could put a post to keep reserved.

"Wonderful, spacious and convenient"
Wonderful spacious apartment, we stayed as a family of 4 and it was big enough to give all of us plenty of privacy and space.
Comfortable beds (1 double, 2 single and a sofabed), plenty of towels and amenities such as toilet paper and laundry detergent for the washing machine. Easy access to multiple underground stations (st paul, bank, mansion house) which makes it very easy to get around. If you like walking, it takes about 25 mins to the tower of London. Plenty of breakfast/lunch/dinner/take out spots in the direct vicinity of the apartment.
What could be improved: A clothes rack for wet laundry would be a nice addition and a 2nd set of keys would definitely make it more convenient.

"Great value and great location - perfect for families"
The apartment is well located and beside a pub with good food. Lots of windows, with heavy blinds in the bedrooms to block out sun. The unit can accommodate 4 or more with 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a den and a kitchen with new appliances. No issues checking in.
What could be improved: I’d encourage the owner to upgrade the carpeting.

"A comfortable stay in a phenomenal location"
Phenomenal location, near many attractions, great transport connections, in clean and safe area. Nearby selection of restitution- I can recommend Rucoletta. Friendly hosts who tried to answer all our needs and request. Spacious apartment which allows you to feel like home away from home, relatively well equipped kitchen. The decoration itself is rather average and the equipment show signs of a long-term use. But if somebody plans just use it for sleeping and resting, it’s really fine for this location and the size of the apartment it’s comfortably enough.
What could be improved: The apartment could be refreshed a bit, knifes could be sharpened from time to time and it will be useful to have more than one set of keys.

"Close to St Paul’s - large apartment"
Location was great, as was the heating and the size of the apartment. Felt safe, hot water was great.
What could be improved: Street noise wasn’t great and the beds weren’t comfortable.
