Overview
First Impressions
City location- 2 bedroom apartment sits on the third floor of a converted Victorian building on Bracklyn Court, and honestly, you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. The entrance is understated — no flashy signage or doorman — but that’s actually part of its charm. This four-star property feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s place than a typical hotel, which I mean in the best possible way.
The Hackney Experience
You know what I love about this spot? It’s properly in Hackney, not some sanitized tourist bubble. Step outside and you’re on streets where actual Londoners live and work. There’s a brilliant Turkish bakery about two minutes away where locals queue up for fresh bread, and the Regent’s Canal is close enough for morning walks. The area has that lived-in energy that makes you feel like you’re experiencing real London, not just visiting it.
The Space Itself
The apartment spreads across a generous layout that actually breathes — rare for London, trust me. Both bedrooms are properly sized (not those shoebox affairs you sometimes get), and each room has decent natural light filtering through large windows. The kitchen is where this place really shines though — it’s fully equipped with everything you’d need, from a proper coffee machine to quality cookware. I spent several mornings there making breakfast while planning the day, and it felt completely natural.
Local Connections
Transport-wise, you’re well sorted without being right on top of a major station (which means less noise). Dalston Junction is about a ten-minute walk, and from there you can reach central London in under twenty minutes. But honestly, some of the best bits are right here — Broadway Market on Saturdays is fantastic, and there are some properly good restaurants within walking distance that most tourists never find.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t about fancy amenities or room service — it’s about having a genuine base in one of London’s most interesting neighborhoods. The building feels residential because it is, the neighbors are friendly, and you get that sense of actually living somewhere rather than just passing through. With an 8.2 rating, it clearly works for people who want something more authentic than the typical hotel experience. If you’re the type who’d rather shop at local markets than department stores, this place gets it right.

"Great apartment in a convenient location"
Good contact with the host. The apartment is in a convenient location, a 15min walk or a short taxi trip from Liverpool street station. The apartment was clean, spacious and had all essential amenities. Well equipped kitchen.

"Worked well for our group , good price and quiet at night."
Clean, breakfast groceries in fridge which was great. Close your transport , shop and short 15 minutes to really good restaurants. Sofa bed fine …a little hard for me but might be fine for others.
What could be improved: Slight issue getting in , we were at the wrong entrance. Didn’t realise there were two entrances ….lady helpful on the phone and once I realised our error got in without issue.
Wasn’t sure where to recycle bottles etc… a little guide would be helpful.
But overall very good value for money .

"nice stay but upgrades are needed"
The building looks dodgy but the flat is nice. (Don’t judge a book by its cover.) The listing pics are accurate. The flat is clean, airy, and flooded with natural light. Fresh paint, nice furnishings. Our thoughtful host equipped the kitchen with coffee pods, tea, jams, bread, cheese, eggs, and milk. Even fresh flowers! ☺ Good pillows, linens, and towels, plus plenty of toilet paper, shampoo, and bath products. The layout was perfect for a mom and two teens. (Everyone had a door to close at night.) We liked that the kitchen is separate from the bedrooms and common area (which we used as a 3rd bedroom). The washing machine was convenient but we had to spin dry our small loads twice. (Not a big deal.) The flat is close to grocery stores so it’s easy to pick up necessities. There are also good places to eat and shop within a 15-20 minute walk. The train station is a 10+minute walk. Our host was very responsive when we had questions, which was appreciated since there wasn’t a FAQ sheet with Wifi codes, etc.
What could be improved: In our opinion, this 3rd-floor flat is not for rest and relaxation but rather a good, budget spot for a short stay while exploring London. None of the windows have curtains - just paper-thin vertical blinds, which do not block light and have big gaps. (Little to no privacy from other buildings.)The upstairs neighbors are very noisy. We could clearly hear a loud BBC broadcast until 1-2 a.m., which made sleeping difficult without earplugs. The mattresses should be upgraded. They are extra soft/worn and the springs are obvious. (Using the duvet as a mattress pad helped.) The clothes drying rack was broken. The lift did not work during our entire 4-night stay. The Wifi is very weak and non-existent in some rooms even with an extender. Before renting I would check with the host to ensure the windows have better coverings and the mattresses are replaced. Everything else was manageable.

"AMAZING stay, which feels like home."
It was a really nice apartment, you literally feel like home being there. The most amazing part of it is, the owner provided us fresh food for having breakfast (fresh bread, cereals, confiture, cheese etc) WOW I’ve never experienced something like this. Even the bathroom had everything you needed, conditioner, shampoo, shower gel etc. For every question we had, we got a quick response. It’s a lovely apartment, with a nice little balcony and everything was amazingly clean. There were also xtra sheets and linen in the closets. Definitely would recommend this apartment! Bus station also literally across the street.
What could be improved: For Uber Orders it can be sometimes bit confusing cause they can come from 2 different sides. But you will figure that out quickly.

"Bad"
nothing
What could be improved: Don't choose here to stay. Very dissatisfied, I want to check out early. 1. The address of the accommodation is not accurate, and the landlord's attitude was very impatient when I called. 2. The elevator is broken, and I have to carry the luggage to the third floor with my family of 7. It takes a long time for my elderly father to get to the third floor. I thought that was enough, but 3. The bed in the room was not made, and my young children and I had to learn to open the sofa bed. 4. There were not enough quilts and sheets, so we could only sleep with bath towels. 5. The network signal is also poor, 6. There was expired milk in the refrigerator. 7.The room smelled bad and the bed sheets were not clean. 8.The mattress was seriously dented, which made me want to run away overnight. We were supposed to stay for two nights, but we moved out as soon as the sun rose. It was completely uninhabitable. The landlord lied and had a bad attitude.

"Awful!"
What could be improved: There were gaps in the windows and doors which we had to fill with toilet paper to stop the drafts, and there were damp patches everywhere. Hideous place to stay!
