City Air Apartments – KENSINGTON – GREAT CENTRAL LOCATION
First Impressions
Walking into City Air Apartments – KENSINGTON – GREAT CENTRAL LOCATION feels a bit like discovering a hidden gem tucked away on one of London’s busiest shopping streets. The building itself is classic Kensington — Victorian facade with modern touches that don’t try too hard. You know what struck me most? How quiet it gets once you step inside, despite being right on Kensington High Street with all its shops and restaurants buzzing below.
The Location Sweet Spot
Honestly, the location is what sold me on this place. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Kensington Gardens — I mean, you can see the trees from some of the upper floors. The High Street Kensington tube station is right there, so getting anywhere in central London takes maybe 20 minutes max. What I really appreciated was having Whole Foods practically downstairs, plus all those little cafés and pubs scattered around if you don’t feel like cooking.
The Apartment Experience
This four-star setup gives you proper apartment living rather than just a hotel room. Each unit comes with its own kitchen — not some tiny kitchenette, but actual counter space and a full-size fridge. The living areas feel lived-in rather than sterile, with comfortable sofas you’d actually want to relax on after a long day wandering around the city. The bedrooms are decent sized too, though don’t expect huge spaces — this is London, after all.
Daily Life Here
What makes staying here work is how it fits into the neighborhood rhythm. Mornings, you’ll hear the city waking up — delivery trucks, early commuters heading to the tube. There’s a nice little restaurant called Dishoom just down the street that does incredible breakfast if you can’t be bothered cooking. The building has parking available, which is actually pretty rare around here, though honestly you won’t need a car with everything so walkable.
Why Guests Love It
The 7.2 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting — it’s not trying to be fancy, just functional and well-located. Staff are helpful without being overly formal, and they actually know the area well enough to give decent recommendations. The apartments work especially well for longer stays or if you’re traveling with family, since everyone gets space to spread out. Sure, some of the furnishings show their age, but everything works properly and the WiFi is solid throughout.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
