Overview

First Impressions

The Charming Fully Equipped Studio sits right on Inverness Terrace, which honestly feels like you’ve stumbled onto one of those classic London postcards. I mean, the white Georgian terraces stretch out in both directions, and you’re literally a two-minute walk from Hyde Park — not the tourist-crowded Speaker’s Corner bit, but the quieter stretch where locals actually jog. It’s a three-star setup, so don’t expect marble lobbies, but there’s something genuinely appealing about the understated entrance.

The Studio Space

Walking into the studio, you immediately get why they called it “fully equipped” — there’s actually everything you need crammed into this compact space. The kitchen area might be small, but it’s got a proper fridge, microwave, and even a little dining table where you can eat your Tesco groceries (there’s one literally around the corner, which locals know is way cheaper than the tourist shops). The room flows nicely from sleeping area to living space, and honestly, the layout works better than some larger hotel rooms I’ve stayed in.

Location Perks

Here’s what the booking sites won’t tell you — Inverness Terrace is basically the sweet spot between Paddington Station and Notting Hill. You can drag your luggage from the Heathrow Express in about eight minutes, but you’re also close enough to Portobello Road that you’ll hear the weekend market buzz. Bayswater tube station is right there, and I actually prefer it to the chaos of Paddington when you’re heading into central London.

Neighborhood Reality

The area has this interesting mix — Lebanese restaurant next to a traditional pub, then a proper English tearoom. You know what I really appreciated? The little Spar shop that stays open late, because when you’re dealing with jet lag and need snacks at 10 PM, those fancy hotel minibars aren’t doing you any favors. There’s also decent parking on the side streets if you’re brave enough to drive in London, though honestly, you won’t need a car here.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the Ritz — the 7.2 rating reflects that it’s solid without being spectacular. But there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t oversell itself. The studio gives you independence (you can make morning coffee without hunting for room service), the location actually makes sense for both tourists and business travelers, and you’re staying in a proper London neighborhood rather than some soulless hotel district. Plus, when your friends ask where you stayed, saying “Inverness Terrace near Hyde Park” sounds infinitely better than “that chain hotel by the airport.”

"very close to Kensington Gardens and Tube Stations... Useful for our needs"
The description of the position of the lock box was a little vague. We kept looking on the walls, or posts, till we discovered the box at the bottom of railings behind some bush.
What could be improved: the fridge could not open fully due to carpet, and we could not get hot water in sink for some reason ( but that may be because we are not used to UK plumbing issues) we had some communication problems with our internet for the days of our stay, and could not readily ask hosts about things, as phones were not helpful The bed was very soft, and we met in the middle regularly!

"Good"
The apartment's location was great; being just a few hundred meters from the metro station made transportation very convenient. The small kitchen in the house provided a good opportunity to at least prepare breakfast for my son in the morning. The shower was great; we were able to take a nice shower with hot water, and there were plenty of clean towels available. The coffee machine was fantastic—perfect for me in the morning and for my son’s hot chocolate in the evening. Also, when we first arrived, there were small chocolates on the bed, which was a very nice gesture. Thank you!
What could be improved: I could only use a small non-stick frying pan in the kitchen, and when I wanted to cook something for dinner, the two larger non-stick pots and pans available were scratched. Since using them in such a condition is unhealthy, I couldn't use them. The bed was very comfortable, but it would have been much more hygienic if there had been a protective cover under the sheet. My son (14 years old) and I stayed in the room, but there was only one chair. One of us had to sit on the bed to eat something. Despite sending two messages to the host, there was no response regarding providing us with an additional chair.

"Great Location"
Location is a short walk away from a tube station, which is quite nice.
What could be improved: This place is uncomfortably small for two people, especially the bathroom. When I arrived, the host was unresponsive at first, leaving me outside with luggage for about 30 minutes or so.

"Not a good experience staying here. No lift, must walk up with heavy luggage to 3rd floor."
Location is pretty convenient, short walking distance to subway station.
What could be improved: No elevator and owner didn't disclose it on Booking.com site. It is definity not suitable for senior tourists, tourist who have difficulty in walking up the long stairs especially with their heavy luggage, I was put up at 3rd floor. I have booked for 4 night stays and even when I checked in 1st day, the hand soap, dish detergent were very low, cleaner didn't refill the liquids. Also, hand towels were low. We took pictures to inform the person in charge but no one got back. Very poor service.

"Would stay here again for sure!"
The location is amazing, very close to two underground stations and right next to Hyde Park. The room is clean and everything (TV, microwave etc) works perfectly fine. The bed is comfortable too.
What could be improved: Pretty loud cars outside sometimes at night but it's ok with a closed window

"Left very disappointed"
This is in response to the owners comments on my previous review… For your reference, please find below screenshots showing messages that I exchanged with Nicholas moments after realising there was an issue with the hot water. So as you can clearly see from the time on the messages, I had reported this straight away. The reason given was the faulty boiler then the second message from Nicholas was that due to the warm weather in London, this can effect the water situation?? Hmm…for the amount I paid for 2 nights, warm running water is not too much to ask for. Also the reason there was handwash in the bathroom after departure is because that is the bottle I purchased myself from the Sainsbury’s Local by the station!
What could be improved: No hot water and poor responses from the owner
