Walking up to Charming Flat in Wimbledon, I’ll be honest — the name doesn’t exactly prepare you for what you’re getting. This ground floor flat on Woodside feels more like staying at a friend’s beautifully kept home than booking into typical tourist accommodation. The four-star rating makes sense once you step inside and see how thoughtfully everything’s been put together.
The Space
The apartment has this lived-in comfort that you just can’t fake in chain hotels. The main room flows naturally into a proper kitchen area — and I mean a real kitchen, not one of those sad hotel kitchenettes with a broken kettle. You know what really got me? The little touches like decent coffee mugs and wine glasses that aren’t plastic. It’s clear someone actually thought about how people live, not just how they sleep for a night.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s where staying in Wimbledon really pays off — you’re about 15 minutes from the tennis grounds if that’s your thing, but honestly, the neighborhood itself is the real draw. The high street’s got everything you need without feeling touristy, and the tube connections are solid. I actually preferred being here to staying in central London because you get a sense of how locals actually live. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to town.
Why It Works
The owners have nailed that balance between giving you independence and making sure you’re comfortable. The flat stays cool in summer (no small feat in London), the shower pressure is actually decent, and there’s proper storage space for your stuff. Small details matter when you’re settling in for more than just a quick overnight stay.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want room service and a concierge, this isn’t your place. But if you want to feel like you’re living in London rather than just visiting, this flat delivers. The 9 rating from other guests isn’t just politeness — it’s because you get genuine value and comfort without the fuss. I mean, where else can you make your morning coffee exactly how you like it and still be in one of London’s nicest residential areas?

"Beautiful property and worth the stay!"
The property was located well. Not far from the underground- about 12 minutes walk. There were shops nearby.
It was a beautiful home with comfy beds and working internet. There was also Netflix which was an added benefit.
It was quiet in the area and had reasonable parking on the street - which didn’t cost too much!
The owner was responsive and informative. All around great property.
What could be improved: There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. I do think it would be good for the owner to provide a tin opener, as there is everything else provided. I would recommend them having some games in the property.

Lovely apartment and really comfortable. It had everything you would need when staying self catering. The apartment is close to the train station, town and hospital.
Max was amazing and really responsive.
What could be improved: Nothing that I didn’t like. Only suggestion is that it would be helpful to have an information book which gives you contact numbers for taxis, recommendations for some nice local restaurants and information for local buses but this is just to assist anyone that is new to the area.

"Lovely apartment in excellent location."
Great location. Spacious. Clean and comfortable. Good provision of essentials and responsive host with clear communication. Short walk from the tube and moments from a row of great cafes and restaurants.
What could be improved: Just to be aware there is scaffolding in place as of Feb 25. There was no work during our stay so not an issue for us and the host informed us about it in advance. However it may be worth checking if this could affect your stay.

"Exceptional"
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The location is excellent - a 10 minute walk from the town centre but near bus stops connecting you to many places. It’s also tucked away in a side street, so lovely and quiet. The property itself was clean, homely and comfortable with all necessary facilities and utensils provided. I travelled with a young family and Max kindly sourced a travel cot last minute for us. There’s currently some scaffolding up on the exterior of the property but there was absolutely zero noise disruption. Most importantly, Max was a wonderful host and communication was excellent. Will be staying here every time we’re in Wimbledon in the future!
