Central London Flat
First Impressions
Central London Flat sits on a quiet residential street in Maida Vale, and honestly, you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking for it. The building is typical Victorian London — white stucco facade, black railings, the whole deal. It’s actually refreshing after dealing with some of the flashier hotel lobbies around town. The entrance feels more like you’re visiting a friend’s place than checking into a four-star property.
The Neighborhood Reality
Sutherland Avenue is one of those London streets that locals know but tourists usually don’t stumble upon. You’re technically in Westminster Borough, but it feels more like you’ve escaped central London without actually leaving it. The Warwick Avenue tube station is about a five-minute walk — and I mean an actual five minutes, not the stretched hotel version of time. Little Venice is practically on your doorstep, which means you can wander along the canal when you need a break from the city chaos.
The Space
Look, calling it a flat is spot-on because that’s exactly what you get. My room felt like someone’s actual apartment rather than a cookie-cutter hotel setup. The kitchen area was small but functional — I could make proper coffee in the morning instead of relying on those terrible hotel packets. The decor is modern enough without trying too hard, and there’s actually space to spread out your stuff, which you know is rare in London.
Getting Around
Here’s what I really appreciated — you can walk to Paddington in about fifteen minutes if the tube isn’t running, which happened to me twice during my stay. The area has that residential feel where you’ll see people walking their dogs and heading to the local shops, not just tourists dragging suitcases. There’s decent parking on the street if you’re brave enough to drive in London, though I wouldn’t recommend it. The bus routes are actually pretty good from here too.
Why Guests Love It
What makes this place work is that it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. You’re not getting a grand hotel experience with doormen and a fancy restaurant, but you are getting a proper London base that feels authentic. The 7.3 rating makes sense — it’s good, solid, does what it promises. I’d definitely stay here again, especially since the price point is reasonable for what you get in this part of town. It’s perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in London for a few days rather than just visiting.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
