Overview
First Impressions
Centra High Road sits on one of those busy North London streets where you’re not quite sure what to expect, but honestly, it surprised me in the best way. This four-star spot doesn’t try to be something it’s not — it’s a solid, well-run hotel that gets the basics absolutely right. The lobby has this clean, modern feel without being sterile, and the staff actually seem to care about what they’re doing.
The Wood Green Experience
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re in Wood Green, which means you get proper London life without the tourist crowds. The shopping center is literally across the street (handy when you realize you forgot something), and Wood Green tube station is close enough that getting into central London doesn’t feel like a mission. Actually, I found myself preferring this setup to staying right in the thick of things because you can escape back to somewhere that feels real.
Room Reality Check
My room was what I’d call sensibly designed — not huge, but they’ve made smart use of the space. The bed was properly comfortable (none of that rock-hard hotel nonsense), and there’s decent storage if you’re the type who actually unpacks. What impressed me most was how quiet it was considering you’re on High Road — whatever they’ve done with the windows actually works.
Practical Matters
The restaurant downstairs serves decent food, though I’ll be honest, some of the best eating in the area is just outside the front door. There’s a brilliant Turkish place two minutes away, and if you’re into proper pub food, you’ve got options. Parking is available if you’re driving, which isn’t always a given in London, and they handle it without the usual drama you get at some places.
Why Guests Love It
You know what makes Centra High Road work? It doesn’t oversell itself, but it delivers on what matters. The 8.4 rating makes sense when you experience how smoothly everything runs — from check-in to the morning coffee that’s actually drinkable. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, get sorted for your day, and don’t feel like you’re paying for a bunch of stuff you don’t need. Plus, being in Wood Green gives you this authentic London neighborhood vibe that you just can’t get in the touristy bits.
Early hotels booking in London secures West End tickets, rooftop cocktail nights, and small-group afternoon tea sessions.

The area is vibrant
What could be improved: The lack of a mirror in the bedroom

"Great stay, definitely recommend 9/10"
The accommodation was just as advertised. It was clean, comfortable, no problem at all. Towels prepared, garbage was taken out after 2 days in. Be prepared to walk the stairs, I like it but some people may not. It is 3-4 minutes walk away from the Piccadilly line, which is really comfortable. Great value for money :)
What could be improved: There were not things I disliked, but I would suggest two improvements. It would be nice to include also a set of cutleries and 2 plates, you have microwave and fridge but no plates or cutleries to eat with something. Maybe include also some instructions, how to manipulate with windows, it may help someone like me not knowledgeable to save some time. These are just suggestions for further improvement of your great accommodation :)

"Very good"
Location and cleanliness
What could be improved: Finding the property using Booking.com directions link which took us to the rear of the property instead of the entrance at the front
The property would benefit from internal signage to find your way around

"Great location and value for money."
Location was brilliant. Near the tube, shops and walking distance to Ally Pally (about 30 mins). It was really great value for money. Great communication from the owners and when we needed an extra cup, they brought us one.
What could be improved: Everything was clean and shower was lush with some wash in there too but the bed mattress was really hard and there was only one thin pillow each. So was like laying on the floor. To be fair, I didn’t ask for extra pillows because by the time we got to bed after the gig we went to it was 12.30 and felt it was too late to ask.

"Convenient stay with easy access to Central London"
The location is excellent — it only takes about 25–30 minutes to reach central London by tube, and the underground station is very close. The self check-in instructions we received were clear and easy to follow.
The room was spotless, and overall cleanliness was impeccable. However, we noticed there were no plates, bowls, or basic cutlery (knife, fork, spoon), which would have been useful during our stay. The view from our room wasn’t great, as it faced an inner courtyard, but that wasn’t a major issue.
The value for money is very good. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, and supermarkets in the area, and the bus stop is also nearby.
What could be improved: The view from our room was not amazing
It would have been useful to have basic cutlery and plates

"surprisingly good place despite what it seems to be from the outside"
The room was surprisingly amazing, excelent bathroom and temperature control. Excelent cleaning service too.
What could be improved: No noise isolation, there was a couple "particularly noisy" and I could hear EVERYTHING
