Overview
First Impressions
Camden Town Apartments sits on a quiet residential street that feels surprisingly peaceful considering you’re literally in the heart of one of London’s most buzzing neighborhoods. The Victorian building has this understated charm — not flashy, but solid and welcoming in that distinctly British way. I’ll be honest, when I first walked up to 14 Oval Road, I was a bit skeptical about the whole serviced apartment concept, but it actually works really well here.
The Space
The room I stayed in was more like a proper studio flat than a hotel room, which honestly made all the difference for a longer stay in London. There’s a compact but fully functional kitchenette with everything you need — fridge, microwave, kettle, and even some basic cookware. The bed was comfortable enough, and I appreciated having a proper wardrobe instead of those tiny hotel closets that barely fit a weekend bag. The bathroom was small but modern, with decent water pressure (always a gamble in older London buildings).
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s great about this spot? You’re about a three-minute walk from Camden Market and all that chaos, but Oval Road itself is actually quiet at night. Camden gets pretty mental during the day — especially weekends — but you can retreat here when you need a breather. The Tube station is close enough that you don’t think twice about heading into central London, and honestly, some of the best curry houses in North London are just around the corner.
Practical Stuff
This four-star setup works well if you’re planning to spend more than a couple nights in London and want some independence. Having that kitchenette means you’re not stuck eating out for every meal (which gets expensive fast in this city). The building feels secure, and the staff are helpful without being overly fussy. There’s no fancy restaurant on-site, but given the neighborhood, you really don’t need one — Camden’s food scene is right outside your door.
Why Guests Love It
I think what makes Camden Town Apartments work is that it gives you the best of both worlds — you get the services and reliability of a hotel, but with the space and flexibility of having your own place. It’s particularly good for people who want to experience London like a local rather than feeling like they’re staying in some generic hotel bubble. The location means you can walk to Regent’s Park when Camden gets too intense, and you’re close enough to King’s Cross that getting anywhere else in the city is pretty straightforward.

"Good"
The place is an excellent location next to cafes, restaurants, pubs and the underground (subway) 0.3 miles walking from the home.
What could be improved: The water preasure in shower of second floor bathroom was very poor. The bathroom did not have did not have a mirror or light.
Non of the rooms had closets or coat hangers.
The stove in the kitchen does not work.
There were also no napkins in the kitchen.

"Standard property in a good location"
Clean and good location
What could be improved: No door on bathroom in en suite and no curtains to keep the room dark

"Ok, for one night. Good location, but not the pictured apartment!"
The location was good, close to Camden High Street, but far enough away that it was quiet. It was also clean. Good for one night.
What could be improved: The apartment we were given was in the basement. I thought I had booked the apartment in the picture. The kitchen isn't a proper kitchen. There were no cups, a coffee machine with no pods. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable.
Access is by a slippery set of metal steps, and there is no outside light. It was dark and raining when we arrived. If you aren't steady on your feet, beware.

"Exceptional"
Our stay was great! The place had everything we needed, including fast Wi-Fi, which was important since we worked during our trip. The kitchen was well-equipped with cutlery and utensils, making it easy to cook. Overall, we were very happy with the accommodation — it was clean, spacious, and located in a nice area.

"100% recommended"
The house was so much bigger than we anticipated, clean and beds were comfy.
We booked at 10pm at night for the same night as trains were cancelled and the host arranged access with 20 minutes! Fantastic host and would definitely book again.

"Amazing accommodation, clean and unbeatable location"
I had a wonderful stay at this accommodation! The place was spotless, freshly renovated, very clean and well-maintained, with a comfortable bed that made it easy to relax after a night out. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of everything, just steps away from great nightlife and amazing restaurants. Despite being so central, it was peaceful and quiet inside. Super convenient and cozy! I’ll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

"Communication with host on the day was appalling and the house was not accessible ready at the check-in time, but once w"
Warm and comfortable- great beds. Good location
What could be improved: Communication with host was non-existent on the day and the access key code was not sent until 10.30pm so we were locked out of the property after our check-in time of 3pm. The property had not been cleaned and the cleaner arrived after our check-in time and although did a good job the property was not ready until 7:30 pm.

"Misleading ad."
What could be improved: We only got the basement. There was another family upstairs. So the pictures in the ad do not make sense for us. At least in the Spanish version of booking I still cannot see a warning about it.
