Walking up to Bright, Modernised Apartment Close to Borough Market, you’ll find yourself on a quiet residential street that feels refreshingly removed from the tourist chaos, yet you’re literally minutes from one of London’s most famous food destinations. The building itself has that classic Victorian brick exterior you see all over Southwark, but step inside and it’s clear someone put serious thought into bringing this space into the 21st century.
The Space
This four-star apartment genuinely lives up to its “bright” billing — the windows are generous and the white walls amplify every bit of natural light that filters through. The kitchen is what really impressed me though; it’s not just some token kitchenette with a mini-fridge, but a proper setup where you could actually cook if you wanted to. I mean, with Borough Market practically on your doorstep, you’d be mad not to grab some ingredients and have a go.
Location Perks
Here’s what the listing probably won’t tell you: you’re about a three-minute walk from Borough Market’s main entrance, but more importantly, you’re close enough to hit the early morning wholesale action if you’re an early riser. The vendors start setting up around 6 AM, and there’s something magical about watching the place come alive before the crowds descend. Plus, you’ve got the Thames Path right there for morning runs — something I discovered by accident but ended up doing every day.
Practical Considerations
The room layout works well for couples or solo travelers who want space to spread out. Storage is actually decent, which isn’t always a given in London apartments, and the bathroom feels modern without being sterile. One thing worth noting — London Bridge station is about an eight-minute walk, and from there you can get pretty much anywhere in the city without much fuss.
Why Guests Love It
Honestly, it’s that sweet spot between having your own space and being right in the thick of things. You get the independence of an apartment — no shared breakfast times or hotel lobby small talk — but you’re surrounded by some of the best food in London. The 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience how quiet it gets at night despite being so central. It’s the kind of place where you actually want to spend time in the evening rather than just crash and leave early.

"Home away from home💕"
The host and the location are the two top things I loved about this apartment. The apartment was our home for 5 days in London and we absolutely loved it. The bed was super comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed, bathroom was clean and well kept. We would definitely stay at this apartment next time we decide to visit London.
What could be improved: Just a call out, the apartment can get noisy if the windows are open due to the proximity to many nice restaurants

"Exceptional"
We had a wonderful stay at Jen's apartment on White Grounds. The apartment was clean, tidy and well equipped (kitchenware, appliances etc.). Jen was such a cool, helpful and easy going host who provided us with some great tips and advices for sightseeing and enjoying what London has to offer. The location of the apartment is perfect and Bermondsey street (and everything on it) is for sure one of the London's hidden gems. We had no objections for this lovely apartment and would recommend it to anyone. 10/10 :)

"A perfectly located cosy & comfortable apartment to get back to after exploring all day!"
I loved the location and the feeling of space. I also enjoyed the proximity to lovely bars and the tube. Jen's personal touches are everywhere and it really made it feel like a home away from home. She settled us so nicely and helped us get our bearings in the area, provided us with nifty maps and talked us through all of it. I would return in a jiffy!
What could be improved: Not a complaint, but more of a warning for future lucky stayers - the water pipes are all connected, so be careful when someone's in the shower. Haha.

"Fantastic location and a wonderful host"
The place was exactly as described and had everything you need for a lovely and stress-free stay. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bed was super comfortable and there were plenty of thoughtful extras - even tea and coffee were provided, which was such a nice touch. It really felt like a home away from home.
Bermondsey is such a great area to stay in - full of charm, great food spots, and perfectly located for exploring London ( just a short walk from London Bridge Station, which made getting around the city incredibly easy!).
Jen was fantastic - super friendly, responsive, and made the whole experience seamless from start to finish.
We'd absolutely stay again and highly recommend it!

"A nice place to stay in London."
Wonderful location! only 8-10 min from the London Bridge station. There are many restaurants, shops, coffee shop, bakery nearby. Walking distance! .The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen equipped everything that you needs, even including coffee, tea and snack. The sofa bed was huge and comfortable. The host was extremely kind and helpful.
What could be improved: None.

Most comfortable mattress ever! The Bermondsey neighborhood is lots of fun and the host couldn't be nicer.
What could be improved: The hot water seems to have a mind of its own sometimes.
