Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Bright and Modern Earls Court Gem, you immediately get why they chose that name — it’s honestly one of the more contemporary places I’ve stayed in this corner of London. The whole aesthetic feels fresh and uncluttered, which is actually pretty refreshing when you’re used to the heavy Victorian vibes that dominate so much of SW5. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea, and you can tell they’ve put real thought into making the space feel both sophisticated and welcoming.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re genuinely in one of London’s most livable areas without paying Knightsbridge prices. Earls Court gets overlooked sometimes, but honestly, it’s brilliant for exploring. The tube station is maybe a three-minute walk, and you’ve got the District, Circle, and Piccadilly lines all right there. I mean, you can be in Covent Garden in fifteen minutes, or hop over to South Kensington’s museums just as easily. Plus, there’s this great little stretch of cafés and pubs along the Old Brompton Road that most tourists never discover.
The Room Experience
My room was exactly what you’d expect from the name — bright, clean lines, and thoughtfully designed. The windows are actually generous-sized, which matters more than you’d think in London. Everything feels purposeful rather than cluttered, and the bed was properly comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable). The bathroom’s compact but well-planned, with decent water pressure and those little touches that show someone actually thinks about what guests need day-to-day.
Practical Comforts
What struck me was how they’ve managed to pack in genuinely useful amenities without making it feel cramped. There’s proper desk space if you need to work, decent storage, and the Wi-Fi actually works consistently throughout the building. They’ve got a small but well-equipped fitness area, and while there’s no full-service restaurant, the breakfast setup is solid — fresh pastries, good coffee, and enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying several days.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place that’s going to wow you with grand gestures or over-the-top service. What it does brilliantly is nail the fundamentals while giving you a genuine taste of London residential life. You’re staying in an area where actual Londoners live and work, not just a tourist bubble. The 8.8 rating makes perfect sense — it’s the sort of place that consistently delivers exactly what it promises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a city break.

"Wonder, truly bright and modern."
The flat was lovely, warm and bright and welcoming. Lovely spacious living area where you can watch tv. The kitchen was modern and everything was in excellent working order. The coffee machine (Nespresso) was very welcome. The flat was sunny and bright, comfy couch and the beds were cosy. Very close to Earls Court Underground and various convenience stores so its easy to stock up on groceries. Lots of places to eat within walking distance if you don't feel like cooking. Everything was clean and neat. Wifi worked well.
What could be improved: Only dissapointing experience was the key collection. The person we collected the key from was quite rude. Also, we tried to check in a night earlier as we arrived in London a day earlier than anticipated. This was impossible. I was told i needed to book through Booking.com, but when I checked the website it said the unit was not available. Yet when we dropped our bags early, it seemed it had been standing empty. What a pity as we would have loved an extra night.

"Excellent apartment but lots of extra hassle with the management company"
The apartment itself was great and just as shown in the pictures. The living room was spacious and very well appointed with all the necessary amenities. Also, the fully equipped kitchen was a nice additions. Bedrooms were comfy – although that side of the building has a bit more noise coming from Cromwell Rd.
What could be improved: Well after the initial booking we spent about 2 weeks messaging the property management company about extra keys which felt so unnecessary. I mean the place is for 6 people and they wanted to give us just one set of keys. That's totally unacceptable and unreasonable. We asked for 3 sets but finally after endless back and fort we could agree on 2 sets of keys. They should really just get a few more sets copied so guests wouldn't have to fight for it like this. This whole saga nearly made me cancel the booking close to our arrival date.
Other minor issues:
- The corridor leading to the apartment is ghastly to say the least. Not a big problem for us but that carpet covering the steps has seen it's best days.
- There was some kind of exterior renovation going on in the neighbouring building just next to our kitchen window. Luckily it wasn't too loud but this should have been mentioned when we made the booking.
- The check in time is very late (4pm) but then they want to charge extra for early check in even though nobody was staying at the apartment before us.

"Superb"
Great location nearby underground station, supermarket and various restaurants. It was very easy to commute to main city's attractions.
The apartment was very nice, spacious and had all needed equipment. The bedroom had a comfy bed, appreciated after long days.
What could be improved: The size of the bedclothes in livingroom was not matching duvet. It was too large, hence not leaving great impression. The sofa in living room was ok for sitting but not comfy for sleeping. The mattress inside is probably at the end of a lifecycle. Overall these are small things and we will keep very good memories from our stay.

"Convenient, quiet and comfortable good for families with 4 members"
Location is good, 5 mins walk to Station, many restaurants, supermarkets, quiet and clean. Master bed is large and comfortable. Apartment has more than enough cookware cups dishes, we will definitely come back next time.
What could be improved: Some minor issues: Door lock difficult to close, only provides 3 rolls of tissue for 7 days of stay (5 rolls would be good), carpet in the living room was very old doesn’t match with the photo on booking.com, big cooking pot’s cover was missing

"Family trip"
We stayed in this London apartment with my family and our 1-year-old, and we had a great experience. The place was very clean, well-equipped (soap for dishes and dishwasher and salt, and oil), and had plenty of useful accessories for a comfortable stay. The only downside was the stairs leading up to the flat, which could use some cleaning and maintenance. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend it.
What could be improved: I liked everything really.
