BnBNova – Tower Bridge – 1BR – St Paul’s
First Impressions
BnBNova – Tower Bridge – 1BR – St Paul’s sits right on Mansell Street, and honestly, the location hit me before anything else. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Tower Bridge — I mean, you can see it from certain angles down the street. The building itself is one of those modern developments that’s popped up in this part of London, clean lines and big windows that actually let light in (something you don’t always get in London flats, trust me).
The Space
This is a proper one-bedroom setup, not some studio masquerading as an apartment. The room has enough space to actually unpack, which I appreciated after three days of living out of a suitcase in smaller places. The kitchen is compact but functional — I managed to make a decent breakfast and even cooked dinner one night when I couldn’t face another pub meal. Everything feels quite new, and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly.
Location Magic
Here’s what I love about this spot: you’re close enough to the major sights that you can walk everywhere, but far enough from the tourist chaos that you feel like you’re living in London, not just visiting. St Paul’s Cathedral is maybe a fifteen-minute stroll west, and you’ll pass through some lovely quiet streets that most visitors never see. The Tower of London is even closer — I walked there twice just because I could.
The Neighborhood Experience
Mansell Street itself is pretty quiet, which surprised me given how central it is. There’s a Tesco Express about three minutes away (essential for morning coffee supplies), and the Aldgate East tube station is close enough that getting anywhere in London is straightforward. What I really enjoyed was discovering the little cafe on Leman Street — locals seemed to know about it, but it’s not in any guidebooks I’d seen. This four-star place puts you right in that sweet spot where you’re connected but not overwhelmed.
Why Guests Love It
Look, you’re not getting hotel service here, but that’s sort of the point. You get your own space to spread out, make your own schedule, and come and go as you please. The bed was comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and having a washing machine meant I could pack lighter. For the money, especially considering you’re staying walking distance from Tower Bridge and St Paul’s, it’s actually quite good value. I’d definitely book it again — it felt like having a London base rather than just a place to sleep.
