Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to 2 Bedroom Flat Next to Lord’s Cricket Ground, Central London feels like you’ve stumbled onto something locals have been keeping to themselves. The building sits quietly on a tree-lined street in St John’s Wood, and honestly, you’d never guess you’re just minutes from one of the world’s most famous cricket venues. This four-star apartment has that understated London charm — no flashy lobby or doorman, just solid Victorian architecture that’s been thoughtfully converted into modern living spaces.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re in London but it doesn’t feel overwhelming. St John’s Wood has this village-y atmosphere that makes you want to grab coffee from the local café and actually read the paper on a bench. Lord’s Cricket Ground is literally around the corner — I mean, you can probably hear the crowd on match days. The tube station is a five-minute walk, which means you’re connected to everything without being stuck in the tourist chaos of central zones.

The Space

Inside, the flat actually delivers on that “home away from home” promise most places just talk about. The two bedrooms are properly sized — not those cramped hotel boxes where you can’t open your suitcase. The main room flows nicely into the living area, and there’s enough space to spread out if you’re traveling with family or friends. The kitchen is what sold me though; it’s got everything you need to make a proper meal, not just heat up leftovers.

Practical Details

What I really appreciated were the little things that show someone actually thought about how people live. Decent water pressure in the shower, enough outlets by the bed for your devices, and windows that open properly (you’d be surprised how rare that is). The WiFi works throughout the space, and there’s even parking available if you’re brave enough to drive in London. The building’s quiet too — thick walls mean you’re not hearing every footstep from upstairs.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it gives you London life, not just London tourism. You can walk to Regent’s Park for a morning jog, pop into Marylebone for shopping, or just sit in your own space and feel like you live here for a week. The 8.4 rating makes sense when you experience how seamlessly everything works — from check-in to check-out, nothing feels complicated or touristy. It’s the kind of place where you start planning your next London trip before you’ve even left.

"Superb"
Spacious and comfortable property, well-equipped.
What could be improved: Would be a nice gesture to provide coffee pods for the coffee machine and detergent for the washing machine.

"Clean and comfortable. Good location."
The apartment is clean and comfortable, featuring cozy beds and pillows. It has a fully functioning kitchen and bathroom. Good location, close to a Tesco and Aldi.
What could be improved: The shower temperature was somewhat difficult to regulate, but we managed to get it right after some time.

"Generally good"
Location: close to Paddington station, 15 mins from tube, easy to get taxis. Aldi very close by. Streets felt safe. No excessive noise. Just background sirens. Rest of apartment complex bizarrely quiet - didn't see a single other resident or hear anyone in our block. Good value for London - easy to get to central London. Spacious. Comfortable beds.
What could be improved: No lift - lots of stairs then corridor/balcony before you get to the door with a suitcase; was a pain but this was advised beforehand. Lack of certain kitchen equipment - no oven gloves or tea towel to get anything out the oven. No small cutting knives. Bowls extremely shallow. No spare bin bags. Lack of plugs - none for either sink. Bath plug broken and hidden - Found it after one day. Taxis couldn't find the right entrance consistently. Bizarre check in with having to go to a lockbox a several minutes walk from the front door meaning with all luggage and children couldn't be dropped off outside the flats as had to be dropped off by the lockbox then lug it all down the main road. Not the end of the world but would have been nice to know in advance and probably would have seriously sucked in the rain or dark. Communication was awful - had to message for info on getting in and got a video. The video was useful but plain text would have been good too. Messages on booking.com were ignored and only got messages on WhatsApp set as disappearing. Asked about bowls as thought they were plates (no reply), asked about plug as couldn't find one (no reply). On last day asked what to do with rubbish as many places I've stayed at have additional rules with rubbish and I could find no check out rules listed here. Was met with "put it in the bin" which felt sarky and unnecessary. Did get a better reply when we'd already left, but it definitely left a sour taste when I was trying to be helpful and make sure we left the place as they wished. I will say, none of it really detracted from a lovely holiday in London and i would still recommend the property as affordable and comfortable and well located - definitely good for London. Wouldn't personally stay again though.

"Nice Clean Apartment in Central London, description on Booking.com needs modification"
The location of the hotel is great. It has 3 stations closeby within 1 Km. Has convenience store at 3 to 6 minutes walk. Nice quiet area, with a bus station right outside the apartment. The apartment is spacious and well kept. The host also provided tea, coffee, sugar, black pepper, salt, cleaning liquids and washing machine cubes which was thoughtful.
What could be improved: Booking.com has this advertised as an air conditioned apartment. Please note the air conditioner is stand alone and only in the living area where there is a sofabed. The other 2 bedrooms and kitchen does not have any AC. I had booked this apartment due to warm London summer in July. The purpose of booking this apartment was defeated. It was too difficult to sleep in the night without AC as weather was warm and humid which was disappointing.

"Good location for the cricket, reasonable for the price we paid."
Large rooms with comfortable beds. Close to buses and Lords. Lovely area with shops nearby. Fans were provided when the weather got hot.
What could be improved: Could do with a refresh, a deep clean and sweep/mop behind bathroom/toilet doors etc. Utensils and glassware were dirty. No dishwasher and two squirts of dishwashing detergent left. No extra towels for 5 night stay. Ducted aircon duct propped into an open window, which allowed a lot of heat in from outside. Instructions to get in were in video form via WhatsApp, which is fine if you have travel data on your phone.

"Pleasant"
For an overnight stay for family it ticked the boxes. Had booked it due to walking distance to Marleybone station as were attending Coldplay at Wembley. 2 single beds in one of the room. Bed in other room comfy. Very basic but for 1 night was okay. Pricing was good. Easy enough to walk to St. John's Wood subway as well.
What could be improved: Definitely got the impression that this isn't supposed to be rented out. Although self service, keys are on a lockbox on a random fence, round a corner from the apartment. Video instructions are sent via WhatsApp on how to get them. A lot of emphasis on having to be quiet as well in messaging, etc. Place needs a proper deep clean. For 1 night thought it ticked the boxes.
