2-bed Flat – Wallington – 6min walk to station
First Impressions
When I first booked 2-bed Flat – Wallington – 6min walk to station, I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a straightforward apartment rental. But honestly, this four-star place surprised me in the best way. The Queen’s Close location might not sound glamorous, but there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels genuinely residential rather than touristy.
The Space
The apartment itself is on the first floor, and you know what struck me first? The natural light. These aren’t your typical cramped London accommodations — the rooms actually have space to breathe. The two bedrooms are properly sized, not those shoebox affairs you sometimes get, and the living area genuinely feels like somewhere you’d want to hang out rather than just crash.
The kitchen is where this place really wins points with me. It’s not just a kitchenette with a mini-fridge and hope — there’s proper counter space, full-size appliances, and everything you need if you want to skip eating out every meal. I mean, with London prices these days, having somewhere you can actually cook makes a real difference to your budget.
Location Reality Check
That six-minute walk to Wallington station? It’s legit — I timed it. And here’s what the listing doesn’t tell you: Wallington’s on the main line into central London, so you’re looking at about 25 minutes to get into Victoria or London Bridge. Not bad at all, especially when you factor in the money you’re saving by not staying right in Zone 1.
The neighborhood itself is proper suburban — tree-lined streets, local pubs that aren’t packed with tourists, and that kind of everyday London vibe you don’t get in the city center. There’s a decent-sized Sainsbury’s about ten minutes away, plus some surprisingly good local spots for dinner when you can’t be bothered to cook.
The Practical Stuff
What I really appreciated was how straightforward everything was. The wifi actually works properly (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), there’s decent water pressure in the shower, and the heating keeps the place properly warm. These might sound like basic things, but when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two, they’re the details that matter.
The building itself is quiet — mostly long-term residents, so you’re not dealing with the constant turnover and noise you get in some short-term rental buildings. Parking can be a bit tight on the street, but it’s free, and there’s usually something available if you circle the block once or twice.
Why It Works
Look, this isn’t going to be anyone’s Instagram moment — it’s not boutique or particularly stylish. But if you want somewhere that actually feels like home for a few days, with proper space and easy access to central London without the central London prices, this place delivers exactly what it promises. Sometimes that’s worth more than all the fancy amenities in the world.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
