Overview
First Impressions
When I first arrived at 1 Bed Apartment Central London, I’ll be honest — the name’s a bit misleading. You’re not exactly in what most people would call “central” London, but you know what? That actually worked in my favor. This unique boutique hotel sits on Garratt Lane in Wandsworth, and it’s got this interesting residential vibe that feels more like staying in a proper London neighborhood than some touristy bubble.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup is pretty clever, actually. It’s a proper one-bedroom flat rather than your typical hotel room, which means you get a real sense of living like a local for a few days. The kitchen is compact but functional — I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but it had everything I needed to make morning coffee and grab a quick bite without having to venture out immediately. The whole place feels lived-in rather than sterile, which I found refreshing after staying in so many cookie-cutter hotels.
Getting Around From Here
Here’s where the location thing gets interesting — Wandsworth might not be Zone 1, but the transport links are actually solid. You’ve got Tooting Broadway tube station within walking distance, and honestly, I found myself exploring parts of south London I probably wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. The high street nearby has proper local shops and cafes, not just the usual chain stores you see in more central areas. Plus, you can get into central London in about 25-30 minutes, which isn’t bad at all.
What Makes It Work
The thing about this place is that it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. There’s no fancy lobby or concierge service, but there’s also no pretense. The apartment was clean, the WiFi worked well (important for me since I was working remotely), and there’s actually parking available if you’re driving — which is practically gold dust in London. The shower had decent pressure, which you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue in older London buildings.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
Look, this isn’t a five-star experience with room service and Egyptian cotton sheets. But if you want to experience London like you actually live here, rather than just passing through as a tourist, this setup works really well. The value is solid — you’re getting a whole apartment for what you’d pay for a cramped hotel room in central London. I appreciated having space to spread out, make my own breakfast, and not feel like I was constantly in other people’s way. It’s the kind of place that grows on you, especially if you’re staying for more than just a quick weekend.

"Highly recommend this accommodation. Great location great hosts"
This apartment was just right for us, location excellent, accommodation just what we need, hosts go above and beyond, thank you
What could be improved: Nothing - the apartment is on a Main Street but we knew that when we booked it. That is what makes it so convenient, it didn’t stop us sleeping

"Fantastic apartment"
Great apartment with all the amenities taken care of. Thoughtful touches from the host, such as fresh fruit, milk, juice and brioche, were much appreciated. Bedroom was really comfortable. Location ideal for Tooting Broadway tube, with connections into Central London.
What could be improved: The only downside was that, due to its location on a main road, it was a little noisy with traffic through the night.

"Very good location, clean and professional staff"
The location is very good - 2 min walking to the tube station, bus stops, restaurants, supermarkets, coffee shops.
It was clean, smelling good and with fresh flowers. It was also very kind the fruits and drinks that were in the fridge.
The staff (manager) was very professional and attentive.
What could be improved: Nothing special to mention.

"Loved it, would definitely stay again."
Lots of lovely little extras including milk, fruit and soft drinks. Brilliant location for the underground and loads of cafes and shops very close by. Tooting Market just up the road was fabulous.
What could be improved: Nothing really not to like.

"Hosts were excellent, aside from the heat in the apartment, I enjoyed my stay."
The location was very convenient. The hosts were very hospitable and helpful. The fridge was stocked with fresh fruit which was great.
What could be improved: It was incredibly hot in the apartment, a fan is much needed as you aren’t able to open the windows due to the road noise. The upstairs neighbors were rather loud.

Nice fruit for the morning, you need a fan because it was quite hot and if you open the windows , there is so much traffics on light make noise.

"Loved the fruit and other food waiting in the fridge"
Really liked the large amount of fresh fruit, juice and milk supplied in the flat. The flat was lovely and clean, everything worked and it's in a really good location right next to Tooting Broadway.
What could be improved: There's a busy bus stop right outside the flat but this is only noisy if it's warm and the window needs to be open.

"Overall very good value for what you pay"
Bed was very comfortable, apartment was cosy, treats left in the fridge, useful facilities provided (hair dryer, curlers etc - these should be advertised more, great perk!), convenient location, host was nice
What could be improved: Shower was very hot and couldn't turn it down (only on boiler), a little noisy being next to road (but to be expected in central london) and noise from upstairs as people moved around

"Would stay again"
Location was great, comfortable bed and food and drinks provided which was a nice touch.
What could be improved: There was an alarm that constantly kept beeping due to low battery in the hallway that could be heard constantly(not necessarily the hosts fault) and the flat was very hot which made it difficult to sleep and relax even with windows open.
