Overview
First Impressions
The Argyle Apart Hotel sits on Seven Sisters Road in a converted Victorian building that’s been thoughtfully updated without losing its character. Walking up, you’ll notice the red brick facade and those tall windows that hint at the spacious interiors inside. It’s one of those places where the four-star rating feels earned rather than inflated — there’s a quiet confidence about the whole operation.
Location & Getting Around
Honestly, being in Islington puts you in one of London’s most interesting neighborhoods. You’re about a 10-minute walk from Finsbury Park station, which connects you to the Piccadilly and Victoria lines — meaning central London is maybe 20 minutes away. But here’s what I really appreciated: the area itself has this village-y feel with independent cafes, proper pubs, and that mix of young professionals and longtime locals that makes a neighborhood feel alive.
The Apartment Experience
Each apartment here feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room. The one I stayed in had a proper kitchen with a full-size fridge, which meant I could actually store groceries and cook breakfast instead of relying on expensive hotel food. The living area was separate from the bedroom — a game-changer when you’re staying for more than a couple nights. The furnishings strike that balance between modern and comfortable, nothing too trendy that’ll look dated in two years.
Practical Details
The building doesn’t have its own parking, but there are metered spots on the street and a couple of car parks within walking distance. What impressed me was how responsive the staff were — not hovering, but genuinely helpful when you needed something. The WiFi actually works properly (you know how hit-or-miss that can be), and there’s a small gym in the basement that’s nothing fancy but has the basics if you want to squeeze in a workout.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it understands what travelers actually want — space to spread out, the option to cook your own meals, and a location that feels like real London rather than tourist London. The 8.3 rating makes sense when you experience how everything just… functions. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but for anyone staying more than a few days or traveling with family, the apartment-style setup is brilliant. Plus, you’re genuinely in a neighborhood where locals live and work, which gives you a much better sense of what London life is actually like.
Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in London before spring brings blossom-lined parks, pop-up exhibitions, and warm evening strolls.

"Lovely stay, very clean, comfortable beds and close to the tube."
Lovely stay, Very clean, comfortable beds, close to the tube. This is a very affordable place in a very expensive city. The location is very close to central London via the tube. There is a tube and overground line within 10 minutes walk. There are some cool little restaurants across the street and a Tesco Express across the street. The room configuration was great with a kitchen. Plenty of towels were given. I enjoyed my stay. This is great choice for those who want to stay in London and find somewhere affordable. This is not a luxury stay, but if you want luxury, then you have to pay luxury prices. Plus there is a beautiful movie theatre and shopping plaza next to the tube. I would definitely recommend it and I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
What could be improved: My expectations were met and the staff at the reception desk were very friendly. I was very satisfied with my stay.

"Superb"
I stayed here during a conference in London and had a nice and very clean and spacious room, especially for London. Staff were friendly and the hotel is perfectly situated with many connections closeby (underground Finsbury Park is 5min walking, bus 91 next door). Would definitely return for another trip.

"It was great having a kitchen and laundry. Although small for three people we made it work. Bathroom was great, room was"
It was great having a kitchen and laundry. Although small for three people we made it work. Bathroom was great, room was cleaned every few days. Well connected to London via metro. And very secure getting into the building only with keycard
What could be improved: The location is in a little bit of a sketchy part of London but I wasn’t too concerned. Only access to the property via stairs

"Recommend staying here, we often choose this hotel."
We love it here, super close the the Emirates Stadium so we often stay here when we head down to watch an Arsenal game. Always clean and tidy and the staff are always friendly.
What could be improved: Being picky, the water pressure in the shower is poor and reception isn’t manned 24/7
