First Impressions
Apartment Masons Hill sits quietly on a residential street in Bromley, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. When I first walked up to number 93, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a converted Victorian house — but you know what, sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress from the outside.
The Space That Surprises
Step inside and you’ll find this three-star property has been thoughtfully converted into self-contained units that feel more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel. My apartment had a proper living area with a compact but functional kitchen — nothing fancy, but everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the nearby Sainsbury’s and avoid eating out every meal. The room itself was clean and comfortable, with decent-sized windows that let in plenty of natural light during the day.
Bromley’s Hidden Advantage
Here’s something most visitors don’t realize about staying in Bromley — you’re actually in a sweet spot for exploring both London and the Kent countryside. The High Street is about a ten-minute walk away, where you’ll find everything from chain stores to that excellent little Turkish restaurant I stumbled upon on my second night. More importantly, Bromley South station gets you into central London in about 20 minutes, but you’re paying South London prices for accommodation instead of Zone 1 rates.
The Practical Details
What I appreciated most was how straightforward everything was. There’s parking available (which, if you’ve ever tried to park in central London, you’ll know is worth its weight in gold), and the staff were helpful without being overly formal. The WiFi worked properly throughout my stay, and the shower had decent water pressure — these might sound like small things, but they’re the details that actually matter when you’re traveling.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Apartment Masons Hill isn’t going to win any design awards, and you won’t find a concierge or room service here. But if you want a clean, comfortable base that gives you the freedom to come and go as you please, with your own space to spread out and maybe cook a meal, it delivers exactly that. I mean, for the price point and the fact that you can easily reach both London’s attractions and places like Greenwich or even Canterbury, it’s actually quite clever positioning.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
