First Impressions
When I first booked Apartment for 4 in the Heart of Shoreditch, I’ll be honest — I was expecting just another cramped London flat. But stepping into this three-star place on Leonard Street, I was genuinely surprised by how much space they’ve managed to create. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s stylish pad than your typical tourist accommodation, and the 8.8 rating suddenly made complete sense.
The Space That Works
This isn’t just any apartment — it’s actually laid out in a way that four people can coexist without stepping on each other. The main room has this nice open feel, and honestly, the kitchen setup is way more functional than I expected. You know what really got me? They’ve managed to make it feel homey without falling into that sterile Airbnb trap that so many places do.
Location Reality Check
Here’s the thing about being in Shoreditch — you’re literally surrounded by some of the best food and nightlife in the city, but Leonard Street itself is just quiet enough that you can actually sleep. I mean, you’re a five-minute walk from Boxpark and all those trendy spots on Brick Lane, but you don’t have drunk people singing outside your window at 3 AM. That balance is surprisingly hard to find around here.
The Practical Stuff
What I really appreciated was how everything just worked without drama. The shower has proper water pressure (thank god), the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and there’s enough kitchenette space to actually cook something decent if you want to save money on eating out. The building’s a bit old-school British — you know, narrow stairs and all that — but it adds character rather than being a pain.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
Look, this place isn’t trying to be something it’s not, and that’s exactly why it works so well. You get the authentic London experience of living in a proper neighborhood, but with all the comfort and space you actually need. For the price point and location, especially when you’re splitting it four ways, it’s honestly one of the better deals I’ve found in this part of town. The fact that you can walk to Old Street station in minutes doesn’t hurt either.
Locals suggest to book apartments in London around South Bank for riverside dining, market stops, and easy city crossings.

"A spacious, contemporary apartment with en suite to both bedrooms."
Spacious, contemporary with en suite to both bedrooms.
What could be improved: It wasn’t clear how to heat the property. We figured out how to turn the heaters on in the bathrooms but couldn’t find any thermostat for any other heating system.

"Lovely spacious apartment"
Lovely apartment, really spacious and in a great location. Super clean and very well equipped. Check in was super easy as was check out. We had a lovely stay.

Nice roomy apartment. Clean and very nicely furnished, with amenities (e.g., kitchen, bath), well located.
What could be improved: It was impossible to contact the person who was supposed to give us the keys. We were late arriving from the airport, and wanted to inform them, but no one replied to our messages and phone call. We were worried because we thought for a moment we had been scammed. In the end, the person was there and everything turned out okay.

"Comfortable, convenient and successful! We would stay there again."
Both bedrooms had a private bathroom (one had a shower and the other a tub and shower), plus there was a third toilet in the hallway. That was a welcome surprise!
The flat was really comfortable, spacious and well appointed. The management company was always responsive and very helpful.
P.S. The lift was repaired during our stay in March 2024 so it is working again!
What could be improved: Bedside lighting -- there was none! The light switch was by the door (in both bedrooms).
Getting the key was no problem, but there was only one even though the flat can accommodate four people. As we were on different schedules, this required some coordination every day.

"The house is okay, spacious and big but under maintained."
The apartment is big, which is lovely. Two rooms had private bathroom and additionally there is a third toilet
What could be improved: The cleaner/ person. who handed the keys was in the apartment sleeping in one of the rooms when we came in. The person didn't respond to text or call whilst we were on our way to the apartment. We were given the apartment late. We had to wait after specified checks-in time for the apartment to get cleaned. We had to further delay our plans due to the wait.

"Lovely and spacious with a great location close to the underground."
Very spacious flat and great location
What could be improved: Not as clean as I expected, mould around bath and quite dusty in general. I wished that we had been told before arrival that the lift was out of order (apparently for over 8 months already!) and that the freezer wasn’t working. We had ordered a food delivery for our arrival only to be told it wasn’t working. Small details but would have been nice to know beforehand.
