Walking up to Amazing New Spacious Apartment in SE1 on Tabard Street, you immediately get that feeling of discovering something locals know about but tourists often miss. It’s one of those apartment-style stays that makes you feel like you’re actually living in London rather than just visiting. The building has that perfect balance of being recently updated while still feeling authentically Southwark — you know, not trying too hard to be trendy.
The Space Itself
Honestly, when they say “spacious” in the name, they actually mean it — which is refreshing because London accommodations can be, well, optimistic about square footage. The four-star rating feels spot-on here; everything’s thoughtfully designed without being flashy. The kitchen is what really sold me though — it’s properly equipped, not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation like so many places.
Location & Getting Around
Tabard Street puts you right in the heart of Southwark, and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re a short walk from Borough Market (absolutely do the Saturday morning thing), and London Bridge station is close enough that getting anywhere in the city is actually straightforward. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night — Southwark has this residential feel that central London neighborhoods just can’t match.
Living Like a Local
The beauty of this setup is having your own space to spread out after long days of sightseeing. There’s something satisfying about grabbing groceries from the local shops and cooking dinner instead of eating out every night — though with places like Champor-Champor just around the corner, you might not want to cook too often. The room layout gives you proper separation between sleeping and living areas, which sounds small but makes a huge difference when you’re staying more than a couple nights.
Why Guests Love It
That 8.3 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here — it’s the kind of place that exceeds expectations without making a big fuss about it. You get the independence of having your own place with the peace of mind that comes with proper hospitality standards. Plus, there’s decent parking nearby if you’re brave enough to drive in London, though honestly the transport links make a car pretty unnecessary from this spot.

Location was great, apartment was new and spacious, and check-in process was very smooth. Host was excellent to work with. Would definitely stay here again!
What could be improved: Apartment wasn’t clean, but Host explained that it was a housekeeping issue and offered a partial refund. Excellent customer service!! There was some street noise but it is to be expected since you are located in a great spot in the heart of London.

"This was not a bad experience, but I had expected some more for the price"
Overall not a perfect but a fair place to stay.
What could be improved: The bin area behind the house was terribly littered. No air conditioning while streets around the house are noisy even in the night, so you keep hearing noises whenever windows are open. And you have to keep them open not to get boiled (we arrived during summer) By the way, you are not able to look through the windows as they are covered with some frosted film.

Lovely new refurbished apartment
Plenty of space for our group. Location was great with a cafe right across the road and walking distance to shop and pubs.
What could be improved: There is quite a lot of street noise and if you’re not used to that, it can be a problem. There needs to be mirrors in all rooms.

"Brilliant!"
The host is amazingly communicative and extremely accommodating. The location is perfect. 5 Minutes to bus, 10 minutes to subway. Shops and amazing restaurants all in easy walking distance (5-10 minutes). The outside area is perfect. The entire place looks brand new, is very well equipped, bright and clean. We loved our stay and would absolutely recommend it. Should I ever come back to London, I would book this apartment again.
What could be improved: There is nothing not to like. All was taken care of, and whenever I whatsapped the host with a question, I received a reply and a solution within minutes.

"Exceptional"
What could be improved: The apartments are large and beautiful, everything is very good, but there is one big drawback – everything is dirty. The floors, the kitchen, it seems like nothing was cleaned. Outside, where you’re supposed to pick up the apartment key, homeless people are living. There was unremoved garbage left on the terrace

Appartamento bellissimo. Situato in un quartiere centrale ma tranquillo e collegato bene. Host eccezionale e gentilissimo che ci è venuto incontro su qualsiasi nostra richiesta
What could be improved: Su Booking erano segnalati tre bagni ma in realtà sono due. Non è stato un problema per noi ma sarebbe meglio correggere le informazioni per successivi ospiti.

"geweldig!"
Lekkere ruim appartement. We waren met een groep van 6. wat lekker de ruimte gaf om iedereen zijn eigen ding te laten doen.
In de buurt fijne supermarkt met dagelijks verse broodjes en brood.
What could be improved: Er waren wat weinig glazen. En helaas geen bier of wijnglazen. Niet dat dat de pret bederfde.
