Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to 82A Dalston Lane Terrace feels like stumbling upon one of London’s best-kept secrets. This boutique property doesn’t fit into neat star-rating categories — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. The Victorian terrace house has been thoughtfully converted into something that feels more like staying at a design-savvy friend’s place than a traditional hotel.
The Dalston Experience
You know what I love about this spot? It sits right in the heart of Hackney’s creative buzz without trying too hard to be trendy. Dalston’s got this amazing mix of Turkish bakeries, late-night bars, and vintage shops that most tourists never discover. The famous Dalston Junction is literally around the corner, which means you’re connected to central London in about 15 minutes — but you’ll probably want to explore the neighborhood first.
Your Space
Each room here feels completely different, which makes sense given the building’s original layout. Mine had these gorgeous high ceilings and original Victorian features mixed with clean, modern touches. The attention to detail is what gets me — proper coffee setup, locally sourced toiletries, and windows that actually open (you’d be surprised how rare that is in London). It’s comfortable without being fussy, if that makes sense.
Local Flavor
There isn’t a formal restaurant on-site, but that’s actually perfect because you’re surrounded by some of London’s most exciting food scene. The owners clearly know their stuff — they’ve got recommendations for everything from the best Turkish grill down the street to where locals grab their morning coffee. I mean, when you’re this close to Ridley Road Market, you don’t really need room service anyway.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets 82A Dalston Lane Terrace apart is how it captures that elusive feeling of being a temporary local rather than just another tourist. The staff genuinely care about your experience, sharing insider tips about weekend markets and which pubs have the best atmosphere on different nights. With a 9.4 rating, it’s clear other travelers have caught on to what makes this place work — it’s authentic London living without the boutique hotel pretension you’ll find in Shoreditch or Notting Hill.
Guest reviews
"Loved our stay and would highly recommend as the best appointed facilities we’ve ever encountered in our significant tra"
The location was fantastic and the thoughtful touches and amenities were unbelievable. Have never stayed in such a place.
What could be improved: The room size was challenging with two large suitcases and the narrow stairs to access with no lift option should be noted. (Especially for older single women). Also a little noisy with sirens in the night.

"Superb"
We had a great stay! Clean, tidy and very comfortable. The owners have thought of everything including some additional touches that meant we had everything we could have needed.
What could be improved: The shared kitchen relies on guests cleaning and clearing away their used breakfast/dinner things.

"Exceptional"
Great instructions and Comms with how to get there and accommodating our requests with travel.
The rooms were clean and full of everything you could ever wish for. The communal room downstairs had a really incredible amount of options for breakfast and snacks. Absolutely everything you could have thought of you might need, was provided.
The bedroom was comfortable and clean with super hair drying and styling equipment available. I didn't use it, but there was a large TV and gaming in the room too. And even a toothbrush in case you forget your own. Really brilliant stay.
What could be improved: Shower was a little intermittent but still fine. Not much to not like it was great.

I’ll definitely recommend it to my friends, and when I go to London again, I’ll be sure to stay there.

"Would definitely stay again!"
I never leave reviews and didn’t want to actually leave one because I don’t want anyone else knowing about this place, but I couldn’t not!
From the clear communication before arrival to the fully stocked kitchen - they really think of everything to make your stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible.
This is an absolute gem of a place!
What could be improved: There was an issue with the window blinds in my room but they got someone round straight away to fix them - so not really a negative

The property is furnished to a really high standard and all the little details have been really well thought through - ghd hairdryer / straighteners in the room, lots of phone chargers with adapters, the kitchen is full with M&S treats and a great selection of condiments, drinks. The location is great for access to Dalston with a fab pub, coffee shop and lovely restaurant on the doorstep.
